Error Defining Database Connection

Error Defining Database Connection

I just installed SecurityAssist on my Macbook Pro and began creating security pages. I first had to define my connection under the Database section. Now I keep getting an error message that reads:

"An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host. Your login or password is incorrect. Please check your connection information."

That's a problem as it is, but worse is that I click OK and I go right back into the search loop as the program again looks for the connection. I then get the error again. And again. And again. Even if I click Cancel on the Search window, I cannot escape this error loop.

I uninstalled the extension, then reinstalled, including the serial number entry. But, as soon as I tried creating security pages, I was taken right back into the error loop. All other options in Dreamweaver and SecurityAssist are unclickable.

Any suggestions?

You probably don't have your testing server configured correctly in Dreamweaver. Try creating a dreamweaver recordset from the server behaviors window. Once you can do that you can probably use Security Assist.

If you can't figure out how to do that, then go through the free tutorial you can get from the webassist site "Database Starter Kit"

Thanks. I was able to configure a Testing Server for Dreamweaver, but I'm still stuck in that endless error loop that doesn't allow me to do anything in Dreamweaver or SecurityAssist, once I try to create security pages. I have to force close Dreamweaver, restart it, then try to create security pages again. But . . . I'm sent back into this error loop again. Do you know how to do some sort of hard reset with SecurityAssist?

Are you able to create and Test a standard Dreamweaver Recordset?

Error defining database connection

Yes, I was able to create and successfully test a standard Dreamweaver Recordset. The problems start on the opening page of SecuityAssist. When I click on Create Security Pages, the window opens but is blank because it immediatley begins the server search. It then fails to find the server, but keeps trying, endlessly, until I force close Dreamweaver.

When I first tried to define the database connection is SecurityAssist, I entered the wrong password (our IT guy added an extra numeral inadvertently). I would like to try again with the correct password, but I can't escape the loop.

Thanks for your help, by the way.
