Custom vs. DataAssist Templates

Custom vs. DataAssist Templates

I about to start building a dynamic online store product catalog using DataAssist. I want to keep the look of the site consistant. Setting up my other pages with DataAssist I have made sure that I have editable regions and the div/css but the structure is fairly simple.

Looking over the sample dynamic site templates the divs and css are well designed to allow full access to many options that I would want to include, should I copy their nameing conventions, structure and settings over to my custom template or will DataAssist wizard create all/some of these?

I'm not sure exactly which divs and css you are referring to, so it is hard to be sure. Most likely we used CSS Sculptor for the page structure and DataAssist for the contents. Both contributed to the html and css on the finished page.

Thanks Ray. I was refering to the example dynamic templates for BlueSkyMusic. I have made a "highbread" template (example and mine base) to work from.

The examples and online docs show the template page with a sideNavigation div. I can not find any referance as to where this area is referanced durring the Wizzard building process. Just for clearification, is this an area that allows for sub-menu/image placement and customizing or is there something that I am missing?

I don't think the wizard effects this area. It was added manually in the example docs.
