eCart checkout page question

I created all the pages needed with the checkout wizard but how come on the checkout page (where you put the credit card # and your info in), is that the Credit card exp. month and year don't enforce a format?

checkout.php

so I don't know if I'm putting in the correct format I suspect that's another data validation process I have to go through. I specified to use the Paypal Sandbox testing process so could that be why? Also, why does it seprate them like this? should you be able to scroll to a date and year?

Also, when I submit order I get the message:
"Transaction Not Completed
We're sorry

Your transaction could not be completed."

BUT IT DOESN'T TELL ME WHY. PLEASE HELP.

the checkout pages created by eCart do not have validation applied, you need to use the validation provided by form toolkit to add the validation.

different gateways require the expiration date in different formats, PayPal requires a 4 digit year "2012" wheres Authorize.net requires a 2 digit year "12"

you can certainly convert the expiration year and month text boxes to select lists if you like as long as you use the same name.

for the checkout failure issue, see the "Debugging eCart transaction failed issues" tutorial on the eCart support page:

No Local Checkout Response

The instructions are for Dreamweaver cs3 & cs4. I have eCart v. 5.03. I don't see 'Local Checkout Response' under eCart>Checkout, only the option to add 'Local Checkout'. ??

make sure you are on the bindings tab, not the server behaviors tab.

Confirm page Parse error

I followed the "Debugging eCart transaction failed issues" tutorial but I still got no response. It's still sending me to the checkout-failure page, so I thought maybe there is no error on the page but has to do with my using the Paypal Sandbox. I rechecked my settings but they seem to be all correct. I couldn't figure it out after rebuilding the checkout pages many times over trying different settings. On the final tries I started getting the message: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '?' on the confirm page so I can't even get passed that now. ??

the error message should include a line number.

what the exact error message, including the line number, and what is the code at that line of the page?

in your checkout process, did you elect to use one of the shipping rate providers?

when the checkout failure page loads, does the url contain a querystring parameter shipping=failed?

if so, the failure is a result of the shipping lookup.

go to the bindings panel, there will be a section for the shipping rate provider you selected, add the Full request and Full Response bindings to your page to see the response from the shipping provider.

Confirm page parse error

No shipping selected. The error is on the 'confirm' page:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '?' in D:\wwwroot\hopeoftheworld.org\www\confirm.php on line 404

I've attached the file.

Thanks.

Any info yet?

I'm desperate to get this figured out. I haven't heard back from the tech support team. I need to create several data driven shopping carts so I need to know how I can get through this when this error comes up.

Thank you.

Levin.
