switching over to primary domain

switching over to primary domain

Hi - i have been prototyping a site and the CMS is an important part ( working part) of their site. Right now the CMS was installed using the ip address and the user directory
but soon we will want to point the domain to the new server at that ip address.
Can i expect a seamless transition?
Will having the domain point to the new name servers have any effect on the installation?
I really do not expect any, but just wanted to know if any reported incidents of problems occurred with similar circumstances.
thanks in advance always,

there should not be an issue when transitioning to the live domain.
