Login Does not remember user

Login Does not remember user

I am trying to get my login to go to a control panel for users of my site and want to set the login so that it remembers the user so I can have welcome message and then a dynamic link to obtain the users name. I have set up the page but it just brings in the first record and does not link the page to the logged in users record.

Help would be appreciated.

Keith

Are you building a recordset on the control panel page using the session variable for the User ID?

When you configure the Log in Behavior, note the name of the session variable that is assigned to the user ID, suture it is the default one or if you enter one of your choosing. Then on the control panel page, create the recordset and folders the userID column on session variable and enter the name of it exactly except for the *WA* part that you may have seen in the Log in dialog.

This can be done in simple mode of the recordset dialog. Do a test and enter an actual user ID and it should return a single record for that user.

Thanks Lon, that worked a treat.

You're welcome, glad I could help. Sometimes just taking a guess at the problem pays off, other times it has nothing to do with the source isse.
