DA Search not returning results when there are spaces between search criteria

DA Search not returning results when there are spaces between search criteria

When a client searches for Forest, for example, a whole bunch of results are returned, including the following:

Forest Lake Times, Forest Engineering, Forest Hills Restaurant, Forest Lake Airport, etc.

But if she types in Forest Lake, for example, nothing is returned. Nothing at all. Do you need to see my search page code?

Thank you!

How is the criteria set in the Data Assist Search wizard?

Try setting comparison to includes and the Filter type to Keyword, set the OR separator to be a space " ", and set the AND separator t be a comma+space ", "

this way the search term "Forest Lake" becomes:

WHERE column LIKE "%Forest%" OR column LIKE "%Lake%"

or if you search for "Forest, Lake" it becomes:
WHERE column LIKE "%Forest%" AND column LIKE "%Lake%"

This is the search code currently:

<cfscript>
//WA Database Search (Copyright 2005, WebAssist.com)
//Recordset: WADAdbotblDonations;
//Searchpage: tblDonations_Search.cfm;
//Form: WADASearchForm;
WADbSearch1_DefaultWhere = "";
WADbSearch1_SetSession = "";
if (isDefined("URL.Search.x") AND URL.Search.x NEQ ""){
WADbSearch1 = FilterDef("SQL SERVER");
//keyword array declarations

//comparison list additions
WADbSearch1 = addComparisonFromEdit(WADbSearch1,"last_name","S_donorID","","Includes",0);
WADbSearch1 = addComparisonFromEdit(WADbSearch1,"company","S_company","OR","Includes",0);

//end comparison additions
if (1 EQ 1){
WADbSearch1_SetSession = "WADbSearch1_tblDonations_Results";
}
}
else {
WADbSearch1 = FilterDef("SQL SERVER");
if (1 EQ 1){
if (IsDefined("Session.WADbSearch1_tblDonations_Results")){
//get session query
WADbSearch1.whereClause = Session.WADbSearch1_tblDonations_Results;
}
else{
//use default query
WADbSearch1.whereClause = WADbSearch1_DefaultWhere;
}
}
else{
//use default query
WADbSearch1.whereClause = WADbSearch1_DefaultWhere; }
}
WADbSearch1.whereClause = WA_Replace(WADbSearch1.whereClause, 'WHERE');
</cfscript>

Jason, that didn't work. Now it's returning all the results, with no filtering.

Jason, I'll have to send the URL and login credentials to you privately, as it's in a secure area of the web site. Do you need to open a support ticket, or should I just email it to you?
