Dreamweaver 5.5 and HTMLEditor 3.02

I suppose HTMLEditor 3.0.2 is for the moment not compatible with DW 5.5.
Only on DW5.5 and sites with the extension I get the following message:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{' in /path_to_testfile.php on line 1

No problems on DW5.0 with the extension.

is this an error you get in the browser? or in Dreamweaver?

if it's a browser error, please send a copy of the page so I can look at the code.

we got it in Dreamweaver's lifeview and in the testbrowsers (here Safari 5, Firefox 4).
Testing the page "over" BBEdit it`s all ok. Supposing DW5.5 will cache the page always - instead of DW5.

I've been getting this error with Dreamweaver 5.5 when I upload files using its built in FTP.

Out of interest.

Have you tried transferring the files using another third party FTP package such as CuteFTP?

I narrowed this down to the Line Break Type setting in the Dreamweaver 5.5 preferences. It was set to Windows, and as my sites are Linux I changed it to Linux and it worked from there on although I did have to edit and save my PHP files prior to uploading. I did this by adding and removing a space and then saving the file.

I spent 2 days trying to figure out what was wrong! :-)

I 'think' its a Dreamweaver 5.5 issue (well, potentially on MAC anyway).

Cheers
Ian

You have got it! Here on a mac changing the "Line Break Type setting" in the Dreamweaver 5.5 preference to Unix(LF) will solve the problem. What a hidden bug in dreamweaver.
