Database Filename Insert

Hello WA Pro,

I need help uploading my images to the database. Right now the images upload to the directory I want it to go to. But it does not put the file name in the column names. It just says NULL in my MySQL database. I have the fields with a "VARCHAR(255)" type. Can someone help please. Below is my link to the website update page. Thanks a whole lot.

Are you using Data Assist to insert the record?

What binding are you using for the image field?

The WA File Upload behavior adds its own set of bindings to the Dreamweaver bindings panel. The one you need to use in your insert command is 'Server File Name'

Then when you display this back out to a web page use a dynamic value for the image proceeded with the page to the file... e.g. /public/images/<?php echo $row_recordset['image']; ?>

You also only need one upload field - not four. Within the WA Upload behavior you can create your seperate resize values and this creates additional bindings for each resize that you can insert into the relevant fields within your insert.

Hope this helps?

Thanks Ian for the replay.

I am not using "Data Assist". I am using the standard PHP update behavior.

For the binding, I was using the "File Field" name. The std PHP update behavior will not let me use any other binding.

Do I need to delete that std PHP behavior and use the "Data Assist"? Or perhaps I can alter the code just a bit. Please advise. Thanks again.

You need to use Data Assist in order to store the uploaded file name.

The File Upload of Digital File Pro creates a new binding group in the bindings panel named WA Uploaded Files (File Field Name) where "File Field Name" is the name of the file field in your form. This binding group contains a Server File Name binding.

you need to use this server file name binding in the upload to store the uploaded file name to the database.

the Dreamweaver update server behavior is limited in that it only allows you to use form bindings. Data Assist gives you the ability to select from any binding listed in the bindings panel for your dynamic data.
