Error in generatePreview

Okay, I was so excited about this extension I went ahead and purchased it with out looking to see if it was compatible with Dreamweaver CS3.

The tooltips ext. installed without any problems, it registered, and when I went to use it on a simple login page, I get the error message,
Error in generatePreview.generalTab:
TypeError: presetsBrowserCrtl.openURL is not a function. See screenshot below.

However, after clicking the ok on that error message, and then saving the page, and opening that simple login page in a browser window, the Validation tooltips do in fact show on the login page, See screenshot below.

So I guess the big question here is, are the Validation Tooltips for Spry supported in Dreamweaver CS3 or not.

I find that all of the proper code is included on the login page, but I am not able to work through the Validation Tooltips for Spry interface to customize the tooltips.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Larry

The extension is not compatible with Dreamweaver CS3 as the system requirements for the extension mentions, so I think that you should contact sales (sales AT webassist DOT com ) for a refund if you don't have access to Dreamweaver CS4 or above.

As I worked on the extension I should have added a restriction in the MXP installer to make sure that it couldn't be installed into earlier versions of Dreamweaver. I'm sorry about that.

Hi Danilo,

Yes I noticed the requirements after I purchased the tooltip extension. I do have to say that I am happy that the extension does in fact work with Dreamweaver CS3, you just do not get any preview when working through the interface. The end result though is what makes me happy.

As you can see in the screenshots below, the extension does insert the correct code, and the validation tooltips do in fact work, again as shown in the below screenshots.

So, as long as you are not going to change anything with the extension, "I should have added a restriction in the MXP installer to make sure that it couldn't be installed into earlier versions of Dreamweaver." even in later releases, I am inclined to keep it because for me it suits me just fine, and the price was right.

So, please don't include anything in future releases so this extension cannot be installed in earlier releases of Dreamweaver than version CS4.

Thank you

Larry

Same thing here

I'm in the same boat as Larry.

I've only CS3 and didn't even look at the requirements. It also works for me with the exception of the preview.

I agree, don't restrict it, maybe just make the notification more obvious/apparent for we who haven't or can't upgrade our Dreamweaver for economic hardships reasons like myself.

I used the Ledge as in the video as I knew what it looked like and works well on site.

It would be nice if perhaps a pdf could be made that had a screenshot of each of the presets so we unfortunates know what we're working off of.

Anyway, I also think it's really nice and am going to keep it.

Sigh.

Thanks,

Iggy
