SA2 interfering with other extensions

Thread began 6/09/2011 2:32 am by info298111 | Last modified 10/18/2011 9:03 am by superpac250441 | 4206 views | 15 replies |

SA2 interfering with other extensions

After installing SA2 my dmxzone extensions wouldn't work anymore for some odd reason.
After deinstalling SA2 and deleting WinCacheFile problem was solved. I would really like to be able to use SA2 without interfering with DMXzone extensions as I need and use them very often.

can you provide some additional details?

Are the DMX Zone extensions throwing errors? If so what where the errors?

please be as detailed as possible, simply saying "it does not work" does not give us anything to go on.

it would also help know which DMX Zone extensions you are having the problem with.

Problems

One of the problems is CSS menus and the Behavior connector. Other one is DMX Lightbox.
When using the behavior connector DW will just crash. Get an error form Win7 that DW crashed and will be closed. Having just installed SA2 I deinstalled, then removed WinCachefile and everything was back to normal. With the exception that I can's use SA2. :)

I'm having the exact same problem. SA2 conflict is causing the DMXZone Behavior Connector to crash DW immediately when trying to use it.

Possible solution:
Just discovered that if you go into the Configuration folder and temporarily move the ‘Validation Toolkit’ folder (inside Behaviors/Actions) up one level, the DMXZone Behavior Connector will then ignore that folder when it starts up. I haven't experienced further DW crashes so I'm assuming this folder is the root of the conflict.

Jason, if I'm totally off with this theory, please correct me. Or if there's a better workaround please pass it my way. Thanks.

Hi
Yes it was the client side validations causing the issue. Once we removed that from mine all was fine. Also considering client side is pretty much no use really no problem.
