Prepping to make changes in cart

Prepping to make changes in cart

Im am going to be making some changes to the cart (adding columns/fields) so that i can better apply coupon codes.

1. if i add fields/columns, the cart edit wizard will update the include files right? IE everything in the WA_ecart folder.
2. i simply have to go back to any page that has "Add to cart" to add a line that submits that variable/field to the cart.

3. if i add a field called CATEGORY (ie tops/bottoms/accessories) and then i create a coupon for 20% off tops, is there a way to show in the line item the original price and the sale price? I would want this to display to the user on the view cart page, as well as save in the database. So im looking for the discount to be calculated on each item, instead of just displaying in the subtotal area the TOTAL DISCOUNT.

1) Yes, that is correct, you will just need to update the add to cart buttons.

2) you can create a custom calculation on the eCart Calculations tab to show the discount being appli9ed but it will take custom hand coding to accomplish. the calculation will look similar to:

abs([CATEGORY] == 'tops' && isset($_SESSION['coupon']) && $_SESSION['coupon'] == 'mycode')?[Price] * 0.10:0
