User Registration Solution Pack

I am planning to use the "User Registration Solution Pack" for my Heritage Club. The package seems like it will be a great fit for my project. I will like some capability for people who register to be able to upload pictures (up to 6 pictures per user).

Q: Is it possible for me to modify the "User Registration Solution Pack" to accommodate this need?

Many thanks,

Michael

Yes it is.... you would probably want to add six fields to the users database to hold the six uploaded images and use Digital File Pro from webassist to incorporate the image upload to the registration and/or profile update sections.

Ray: I take it that the six photo fileds can be named Picture1 .. Picture6?

The question is how will the upload be effected on either the Registration page or the Profile Update page? Does this need added skills to accomplish this?

Many thanks.

1) yes

2) you would want to use Digital File Pro and DataAssist if you weren't comfortable in writing php

Ray: I have created the picture field -- I used the user.sql script. I imported the script to MySQL Querry Browser added six more fields, Picture1..Picture6.

CREATE TABLE `users` (
.
.
.
`Picture1` varchar(20) default NULL,
`Picture2` varchar(20) default NULL,
`Picture3` varchar(20) default NULL,
`Picture4` varchar(20) default NULL,
`Picture5` varchar(20) default NULL,
`Picture6` varchar(20) default NULL,
`Picture7` varchar(20) default NULL,
PRIMARY KEY (`UserID`)
)

Q: Pictures can NOT possible have the attribute varcha -- what will be the appropriate attribute for Picture?

I will read more on how to use Digital File Pro and Data Assist to accomplish this task, as I have both in my super suite.

*** I thought that the "User Registration Solution Pack" with the correct modifications is sufficient to do what I needed done.

Once again thanks.

The user registration solution pack along with Digital File Pro and DataAssist should be all you need to get this done.

Pictures should have the attribute varchar... you store the images in a folder and you just store their name in the database as a varchar so you can reference them later.

You should find what you need in the Digital File Pro help documentation.

When I applied my Template to the one of the form pages -- it seems to wipe out the configured contents on the Login.php form -- I followed exactly the instruction provided for doing this. Fourtunately I have duplicate copies.

Q1: Am I doing something wrong?

Many thanks,

Michael

The answer is, that it should work in most cases, but there are characteristics of particular templates that could cause issues.

What do you mean by: "wipe out the configured contents "

When I resulted to you the Blue Sky Template which came with my previous purchase -- it looked fine inside the dreamweaver CS4 environment, but when I tried to preview it -- everything else loaded except the "form" area.

When I removed the Template application -- It previewed very nicely and I was able to test my login.

Q: Am I applying the template wrong? -- I followed the steps indicated in the instructions pdf.

Many thanks,
