Errors on Conversion MSAccess to MYSQL

I have several domains built some years ago using MSAccess and ColdFusion that worked just fine.

I am converting all the databases to MYSQL but am getting SQL syntax errors with the code generated by DataAssist.

I tried to reopen the the DataAssist wizard and re-set the code but found no where to designate the type of database and the SQL errors persist.

How can I set the WebAssist code to deal with MYSQL syntax rather than MSAccess?

One of the problems with MSAccess is that the SQL it creates sometimes isn't recognised as a valid SQL statement, either in MySQL (or MSSQL).

Have you tried pasting the sql from access directly into phpmyadmin ? you will probably find it doesn't work

Converting MS Access to MYSQL

I've had no problems with the conversion for code I have written myself - it usually does work well to copy and paste the MSAccess SQL code - but in a number of instances, the code has been generated by the webassist dreamweaver extensions.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to go back and manually recode everything - I thought maybe there was a setting in the extension to notify the webassist code generator that I was dealing with MYSQL instead of MSAccess.

Note that all my code is written for COLDFUSION and not PHP

MySQL Error

I solved the problem - the date format was still set to an MSAccess Date. I changed the format to just date - then I had to go to the MySQL database and change the data type from datetime to just date. Then I had to change the input format on the date field to yyyy-dd-mm

Tried again and it worked okay!

Thanks for your encouragement!
