Shipping Options

Is there a way that we could specify a number oc shipping rules...

Option 1 - Postage within the UK
Option 2 - Postage within Europe (but outside of the UK)
Option 3 - Rest of the world

Each postage option would be a different value for each product

Power store does not offer item specific shipping for different locations.

it would require using eCart to edit the power store cart object, adding a column for each region to the cart object, editing the eCart add to cart buttons and product database to get the different item shipping amounts, and configuring the shipping rules to use thise. We will not be able to offer support for this type of modification through the forum, If you need assistance setting this up, I would suggest signing up for a premiere ticket.

I have a feeling that I will be getting a premier ticket at some point, but in the mean time Im trying to use shipping rules. I am trying to save a postage amount per country with a nominal no as the weight.

I am having two problems doing this;

Firstly, Im not really sure what all of the shipping settings mean, what they do and how they interact with each other.

Secondly, after creating rules for a country, I go back to edit these 'sub'rules, but they no longer appear within the window...

are you referring to the different options on the shipping tab in the eCart object? for the trigger and calculation?

Those are all different ways of configuring hopw the shipping rate will be applied.

the triggers section is used to determine the conditions that must be met for the shipping rat to apply, for example, in oyur case, you would want top trigger the shipping rules based on the "eCartCheckoutForm_shipping_country" session value.

for the UK rule, you would set the trigger as:
based on sesson variable value:
if the session variable "eCartCheckoutForm_shipping_country" has a value "=" to "UK"

for the rest of Europe, but not UK, you would use the same trigger, using the country codes for the other European countries:

based on session variable value:
if the session variable "eCartCheckoutForm_shipping_country" has a value "=" to "FR"

AND
based on session variable value:
if the session variable "eCartCheckoutForm_shipping_country" has a value "=" to "SP"

etc

for the rest of the world, you would use Session variable "eCartCheckoutForm_shipping_country" is set

AND
based on session variable value:
if the session variable "eCartCheckoutForm_shipping_country" has a value "!=" to "UK"

AND
based on session variable value:
if the session variable "eCartCheckoutForm_shipping_country" has a value "!=" to "SP"

AND
based on session variable value:
if the session variable "eCartCheckoutForm_shipping_country" has a value "!=" to "FR"

etc...

if the rules are not sticking, most likely the eCart object file is set to be read only, make sure all the files in the WA_eCart folder are not set to be read only.

Thats useful to know, but not what I meant...

I was trying to get the shipping rules in Powerstore to work..

I went to Settings>Shipping Settings>Add Rule

I then get a form with;

Label
Destination Country
Base Rate
Per-item Rate
Provider
Max Weight
Rate

Im not really sure what all of these fields mean....

I created a number of rules here using different weights and postage rates to try to test what all of these setting mean.

Clicked OK

Then the Country Rule was shown in the Shipping Settings Page, I clicked edit where I am shown the pop up again, but no rules are shown.

Im not even sure that Im using this right but I expected the rules that I created to be there when I tried to edit them....

Shouldn't it be OR instead of AND?

no, you are trying to determine if the shipping country is not one of the European countries:

NOT = "UK"

AND
NOT = "SP"

AND
NOT = "FR"
etc....
