Blank pages appera when saving a theme

First, when uploading a logo by clicking the navigation/folder icon, the file manager window apprear and says loading please wait... It stays there for ever with nothing changing. I closed the window and uploaded the logo using ftp to the images folder on the server. I then changed logo.

Second, When I click save to save the theme/changes, it wants me to give a name to the these. I did give it a name and clicked publish. A bkank window/page appears and stays like that for ever. When I click refresh here is the error message:

Please help!

Here is another error when I'n updating content then click history I get this error:

Also when creting shipping rules: It was only showing internation and UPS. yet I had created a shipping rule for USPS. When I deleted the internation shipping rule, ONlY UPS shows up at check-out! Even thoough I re-cretated a rule for Internation shipping for USPS!

Still having some issues:
1. When doing spam report and email preview, email received has missing images plus this code shows up on the email; <$currentmonthname$>
Is there a setting that I'm missing?

2. I contacted USPS about the issue on shipping. They gave me a new ID and password. They also gave me a testing server url. ShippingAPITest.dll or ShippingAPITest.dll.
I tried to replace each with the default url on PowerMessenger but still its not working! They will give me the live url once I'm sure that my xml is working (they say).

I don't really know that is going on here!!! After updating PowerMessenger files replacing them with the new files in my download area of WebAssit, PowerMessenger does NOT get spam nor send preview! Yet these new files should have solved the issue. It claims that the messege was sent but it does not show up in the email addressed I'm sending it to.

I am also having problems with trying to save any changes in the Design Tab. I get a blank page with the exception of " 0 " appearing in the upper left hand corner. After closing that window, I get the following error in another browser window:

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.
The script had an error or it did not produce any output. If there was an error, you should be able to see it in the error log.

After trying to save changes to a theme - the default theme appears. To get back to the theme I'm using, I have to select it, then edit it in the design tab. Afterwards, I exit the design window without saving the changes.

I also get the same error message when trying to change the logo.

This is an update to my prior post from a few hours ago. In searching the forums, I found mention of changing the directory permissions in the /webassist directory and all subdirectories from 777 to 755. This helped with a couple of issues.

I can now upload an image for the logo.

However, I still can't save the theme. When I select "Publish", I'm asked to name the theme, which I do. I then still get a blank page with a " 0 " in the upper left hand corner. Before, I was getting a server error as well, but now I am returned to the Store Manager page. (Before I got a server error and was forced off the Store Manager and needed to log in again.)

The only way for my edits to show up "live" is to edit the theme, then exit the page without saving anything. (I do get a message that the edited theme has not been saved the next time I go into the Design tab.)
