ecart database creation

I need to create a registration style shopping cart for an event registration with options. Options for example may be to include a t-shirt, a dinner event, event registion fee, or more.

How does ecart 5 create the database it uses? Is it based on fields created for the shopping cart or would I have to modify the database?

Or maybe another question,

what would be the best way using WA products to create an event registion system with a database and payment processing to PayPal?

Thanks

eCart does not create the products database, that needs to be created before using eCart.

you can use the eCommerce database that we have available as a starting point:
ecommerce-database/

event registration is not to much differant from a standard product, so the existing products table should be a good place to start.

For the product options, see the "Product Options with eCart" tutorial on the eCart support page:

confused

Jason thanks for replying but I'm a little confused by the description on the ecart product page:

"Automatic Database Table Creation

eCart can automatically create the necessary database tables required for storing your order information. This will save you time and ensures that your database has everything that you will need."

Does this mean that ecart can append to an existing database if permissions are correct?

eCart can automatically create the Order and Order details table for storing order information on checkout.

it cannot automatically create the products table however.
