Hi
Is PayPal eCommerce Toolkit able to run in Dreamweaver CS5 on the Macintosh. (OSX 10.6.7)?

No, the Paypal eCommerce toolkit is not supported on Dreamweaver CS5.

the System Requirements as listed on the Product detail page for the Paypal eCommerce Toolkit are:

  Windows

Windows Vista, Windows XP, or Windows Server 2003
Dreamweaver CS4, Dreamweaver CS3, Dreamweaver 8
Works with static and dynamic pages

Payment Service

PayPal Account

Macintosh

Mac Power PC 10.4.x, 10.5.x
Mac Intel 10.4.x,10.5.x

No, the PayPal eCommerce Toolkit will not be updated for DWCS5.

Instead, look to using the Payment Buttons for PayPal extension:
?lid=free?

ecommerce toolkit vs. paypal buttons

hi, I think this answers my query.
Basically, are you saying that the Paypal buttons function have superceded the ecommerce toolkit?
I have downloaded both features, but notice that to use the Paypal buttons it is necessary to register for api certificate? Is this correct?

Yes, the payment buttons extension replaces the Paypal toolkit extension and requires you to sign up for an API account.
