Application ID

I would like to know why do I need an application Id to insert comments in facebook.
I have tried this plugin at the developer facebook page and it didnt asked me to insert ID.

You are correct, we have released an updates to the Social Media Toolkit to reflect the changes that Facebook did. Please log in to your downloads center and download the latest version of Extension.

I have downloaded the last beta version of plugin (V.018) twice, but it asks for application ID.

Sorry, i believe i was a little confused for a bit, but i figure it out. If you look at the code that is generated in the link you have posted, you can see it still asks you to fill in the application id, so the application id is required for Facebook comments.
