Keeping user form data upon validation error

I continue to lose all the input data in my php form with a validation error. I have attempted all remedies that I have found on this forum, including uninstalling the extension, deleting the cache, reinstalling the extension. I do not see the WA Validation Entries. I noticed that you had a bug resolved on 12/1/10 -- is this the same needing the fix or should it be fixed in the extension that I downloaded yesterday?

Update: I did the bug resolution from 12/1/10. This should be listed on your FAQ as an outstanding bug to save time of those who purchase your code.

Keeping user form data upon validation error

I am having the same problem, the user form data disappears when there is an error. What is the bug resolution of 12/10/2011. I also do not see WA Validations in the Binding Panel to bind to the form fields. Have tried deleting the cache many times! to no avail.

Does anyone have a solution to this? - two working days now ! X

here is an updated copy of the Configuration/DataSources/PHP_mySQL.WA_Validated_Entries.htm file that should correct the issue.

Please copy into the users configuration folder.

Thank you

Replacing the zipped file has done the trick. It may be an idea to add this as a known issue in the Form Toolkit forum for other users.

Oh boy... I'm having this issue now. :-)

I also cannot get user data to stay in the form fields on page refresh. When clicking "submit" on the form, if any field does not pass validation, when the page refreshes to reveal "showIf" content, all data is wiped out of the fields.

I tried replacing the newly provided file, as recommended in this post, and I have cleared the cache, as recommended elsewhere, and have restarted Dreamweaver, etc, etc. Unfortunately, I'm still having the issue.

I have zipped some of my files in case you want to look them over. (There seems to be an uploading issue with the forum right now, so I've kept them on our server.)

Also, you can see a demo of the problem with this temp form.

Thank you!

after replacing the Configuration/DataSources/PHP_mySQL/WA_Validated_Entries.htm file, your binding panel should show a Validated entries binding group. select each form element, in the properties inspector, click the lightning bolt next to initial value, and select the corresponding item from the validated entries binding group.

Follow-up question

Hello!

I had a follow-up question to this one. I am able to get all the information to show on the page when the page refreshes now (for form fields, radio buttons, etc)... except for the state of checkboxes.

If someone clicks a checkbox, and validation fails when submitting the form, I'd like to have the checked boxes remain checked. I've tried using the dynamic button (lightning bolt) as indicated earlier in this thread... however, it just makes every checkbox checked, all the time, no matter what the previous state was.

Just wondering if there is another method to use for checkboxes?

Thanks!

no, the method is the same for checkboxes, you have to sue the validated entries binding in the Check If option, and enter the checked value for that checkbox in the equal to option.
