Cart still has items after checkout is complete

Cart still has items after checkout is complete

I have my cart working and all, but once I checkout successfully, the cart is not empty. In other words, I had Item 1A to my cart, go through checkout and process successfully. From there, if I go an add another item to the cart, say 1B, the cart still is showing 1A and also show 1B.

And if I continue with the checkout, it doesn't insert a new order in the DB, it just replaces the one with 1A.

So the sessions are not empty after the checkout, isn't there a way to do this?

You can clear the session on the bottom of the success page after the payment is processed. The syntax depends on your server language.

<%
Session.Abandon()
%>

Just place it at the bottom of the page where you want the session cleared.
