Search for BOSS

Like a lot of people no doubt, I got the email from Yahoo the other day saying that version 2 of BOSS was coming out and that version one would cease to work after 60 days. Also that version two was a paid for service.

If I've understood that correctly, how will that affect users of your extension?

We are planning to release a Search For Bing extension that will replace Search for BOSS. this will be given as a free update to any customers that have purchased Search For BOSS.

We hope to have this new search for Bing extension available before the cutoff of Search For Boss v1.

Yahoo seams to think so as well. from what I understand the BOSS v2 API is now using the Bing Indexing servers.

Just looking for a timeframe for the new Bing release to Beta. I've got a few sites that are fully utilizing Yahoo Boss.

Thanks!

We do not have a time frame for when a beta version of this will be available. We hope to have it released before the cutoff of the Search For BOSS v1 API, but I do not have any other details.

It's been about 2 months since this thread has had any updates. I'm still hoping to see a new product offering to replace BOSS. Search for Bing was mentioned previously. Is there any movement towards creating a new Search Tool?

I'm finding myself looking for other solutions for site searches...
