Search the internet script

Search the internet script

I am not sure which forum this should go in, so i will ask it here.

I have seen a few software packages for sale that scan the internet for classifieds on a certain topic and return the results. for example.

There are several services (for realtors) that return for sale by owner listings retrieved from loan newspapers and online ads.

I would assume there is a php script that can be written that would gather the info, then sort it kicking out the results onto a spreadsheet.

Any ideas of how to do this? I am looking for a starting point. A way to "see" all the ads. Maybe start off by scanning Craigslist or something like that. I would assume that i need to tell it where to look, but maybe that is something that can be done on autopilot also.

thanks for you help.
