Why your participation is important...

Hey guys,

We've had a number of users sign up for the CafeCommerce beta, and quite a few test stores have been created. However, we are not getting the amount of feedback that we had hoped for with this beta. So, i thought i'd point out a couple of the benefits to helping test CafeCommerce if you are an existing WebAssist customer.

Feedback on this product is feedback on all our products...
The features you see in CafeCommerce may very well make their way into other WebAssist products. In particular, in preparation for the next version of PowerStore we will definitely be looking at CafeCommerce's features. So, we need your feedback to tell us what features you like, don't like, or think need work. Not only that, your feedback on the checkout process could help us improve eCart and suggestions regarding the catalog, detail pages, and admin might help us with the next version of DataAssist (see where i'm going with this?).

Who doesn't want an iTunes gift card?
Those who provide useful feedback will get a chance to win an iTunes gift card. A $50 iTunes gift could go a long way! Think of all the addictive 99 cent games you could buy....or songs/albums...or iPad apps or iBooks!

So, perhaps CafeCommerce might not be the next WebAssist product you jump on like it's the new iPhone, but your feedback may help us make the product that does.

Thanks!

Beta Test

I must have been thinking of the same thing at the same time while you posted this I had questions about PowerStore and also had a question about the beta test and the header.

As I mentioned I emailed Anna already but I will post it here so others that may have had the same problem might get the help needed as well.

Attached is an image with the header but I had to resize (size down) the header from 950 to 910 to center it to the website and make sure that the right side of the header doesn't get cut off. Is there a way to eliminate the padding for the header or adjust the padding? It seems like the image has padding on the left side of the header for the generic "logo" that CafeCommerce comes with originally.

Another thing is can there be a copy protect on images or are you relying on the website watermarking images? I believe that all website owners should watermark their own images but just wondering if this could be added for basic images. As for stock photo sites like someone mentioned in another post they should watermark EVERY image themselves but as for if there was a copy protect and a watermark both would be helpful.

Thanks for your help.

Hey Kevin,

We've provided the Advanced CSS Rules page for this reason. You can basically modify any of the CSS used throughout the site by adding your own rules here. In the Admin, go to Design > Advanced.

You would want to create a CSS style that would modify the style currently applied to the logo. I think what you would be looking for would be something like this:

#header .logo {
padding: 0;
}

That would remove the padding that is applied to the logo.

I should note that we have made a big deal about this interface only being used by those who have a knowledge of CSS. This is because there is potential for someone who is not familiar with CSS adding styles incorrectly and causing their entire layouts to break.

A watermark feature that would allow for adding watermarks to product images is definitely something we can consider for the future. It would be interesting to see how many others would like to see this type of feature.
