Discount not reflected at PayPal checkout

I have implemented a coupon code for a discount on one of my products. But when the user goes to check out through PayPal, the discount is not reflected on that page. So the customer is canceling the order at that point.

Is this how it is supposed to work? If so, is there anyway to show that discount at the PayPal page? If not, this seems like a serious gap.

Does the discount get applied when the come back to my site and finalize the purchase?

no, the discounted price should be what is transferred to paypal.

I replaced the webassist/plugins/shopping_cart/process_transaction.php file with the new one you sent and I still get the same error. No discount is reflected at the paypal site. I am including a screenshot of the paypal info I see.
