Creating Database Connection in DW CS4

Hi there,

I've set up a database connection in Dreamweaver CS4 using the Databases panel, as shown in the "sp_db_connection" PDF, but here's my concern.

The database seems to be set up & working, but when I click "test" or 'select" I get "An unidentified error has occurred" message.

1 use 1&1.com for hosting & this is the info I have upon setting up a new database (which I've entered in the Databases Panel):

DB Name:
db290585078

User Name:
dbo290585078

Password:
XXXXXXXX

Host Name:
db1928.perfora.net

Description:
CanvasToArt

My only guess after doing a little research is that I need to put in the IP address in the Connection name field in DW. Right now I have localhost in there. Is this correct?

If you setup your testing server in the DW site configuration, that should do the trick. Basically, DW needs access to the server so that it can verify and establish the database connection.

OK,

I just set up a testing server & now I get an error message that says:

MySQL Error#: 2005

Unknown MySQL server host 'db290585078"(1)
