PowerStore 4 Paypal Standard

I setup the Instant Payment Notification as per Webassist instuctions below.

"If you are using PayPal Standard as your payment gateway, you will be provided with an IPN page URL. This URL will need to be added to your PayPal Standard account details on the PayPal website.

Copy the IPN page URL that appears on the Gateway Settings tab of the Settings page in your Store Manager.
Log into the PayPal website at paypal.com.
Choose the Profile link from the sub main navigation.
Under Selling Preferences, choose the Instant Payment Notification Preferences option.
Select Choose IPN Settings.
In the Notification field, paste the IPN page URL that is provided in the Store Manager.
Select the "Receive IPN messages" checkbox.
Click Save."

but I get this message when I try to check out

"We're sorry

Your transaction could not be completed. Either your credit card information or billing address has problems and cannot be processed

Please return to checkout and try again."

The people at Paypal are saying I need an API signature which I now have but do not know where to set these settings?

This is probably related to your shipping api credentials and not due to any issue with paypal... What shipping settings are you using? Does the url to the failure page include a ?shipping=fail in it? Does it work if you set shipping settings to none?

Look to me like it is because they do not have a meter number?

I got the meter number and it went thru.

Now the shipping cost to two towns over for one pound package was $36.00.

I guess that is a problem for Fedex to solve

That is probably because of the default box size. We automatically set a box size of 12" square, which has a minimum effective weight of 5 lbs.

To correct that issue, go to the page:
/webassist/plugings/shopping_cart/process_transaction.php

Find the FedEx shipping area and change your box dimensions to 12x10x3... or something smaller like that. The rates will then be more accurate for small shipments. If you can't find the correct lines to update, attach a copy of the page to this thread and I'll give you line numbers.

Fedex meter number

How do I set it up to figure the cost by weight?

The box size will change with what and how much the customer buys.

Talking to Fedex they check the meter number and say that the it is old and that you are using a code work around?

I found nothing in the file:
/webassist/plugings/shopping_cart/process_transaction.php

I did find
$Shipping_PackageArray[$Shipping_PackageIndex]["PackageLength"] = "12";
$Shipping_PackageArray[$Shipping_PackageIndex]["PackageWidth"] = "12";
$Shipping_PackageArray[$Shipping_PackageIndex]["PackageHeight"] = "12";

under the
//WA eCart FedEx Shipping - FedEx
code

In the file named:
/webassist/plugings/shopping_cart/calculate_shipping.php

can I set these to "0" so it defaults to weight and handle the cost of box with additional charge?

Yes, I think that would work.
