Problem with IE9

I have found that my up to date PowerGallerys are not working in the native Internet Explorer 9 browser. Its just another case of MS making my life difficult. I had a friend of mind beta test my page for me and he had just installed IE9 and he only got a gray box where the slideshow should have been. He then turned on something called 'compatibly mode and the page worked better but not perfectly.

If you use Adobe Browser Lab you can get a quick look at what happens to a PowerGallery in IE9.

Is there anything to be done? Is there something Webassist can to to fix the problem? Or is this just the way its going to be.

If you posted a link to the page that doesn't display properly in IE9, someone may be able to make a suggestion.

IE9 should render your pages correctly according to the doctype used, but if you continue to see the page render corrrectly only in IE9's compatibiltiy mode, then as a last resort, you can force the browser to use compatibility mode for that page (see here).

What versions of IE does it display correctly on? Do you have a DOCTYPE declaration at the top of your page (in code view)?

At this time, IE9 is still in the beta test phase, it has not yet been officially released. We do not support browsers that are still in development.

IE 9 problems

IE 9 is now on general release and my clients are installing it.

Some of my Powergallery galleries don't work correctly unless switched to IE8 mode.

I have a slideshow wide gallery that doesn't work: index.php?gallery=1&theme=light

And a grid+lightbox gallery that doesn't work: index.php?gallery=1&theme=light

I haven't tried other gallery designs so I don't know if they are affected.

We will be releasing an update to Power gallery in the near future to address IE 9 compatibility issues.

Right now, we are working on HTML Editer / Power CMS / Power CMS Builder, when those updates are finished, we will address Power Gallery.

This issue is dragging on a bit. Please can you feedback your progress with this and provide a release date we can pass on to our clients?

Thanks.

Here is an updated version of the mootools-core.js file that should correct the IE9 compatibility issue. Place it in the js folder.
