Solution ideas required

Hi,

I'm building an ambitious project!
Not sure if this is most appropriate forum topic, apologies if not.

Part of the design requires users to register and buy credits in order to read messages posted by other users.

All users are required to login in order to read and post these messages which are all handled through a mysql table, linked to their user account.

I would be interested to hear any ideas around what WA apps might best suit this piece of functionality.

Thanks, Paul.

for login and registering, you would use security assist.

for purchasing credits, you would use eCart.

the succesful transaction would need to set the number of credits associated to the users account.

you will then need to create logic for how the purchased credits are used, when they read another persons message, does it deduct from the credits they purchased?

If so use data assist update record to update the credits associated to the users account.

Yes, each time a message is read the credit balance will be reduced by 1 credit
I would also need to update/flag the message as 'read'.

So the ecart can be configured to offer say 4 credit options and then credit the users credit balance with the value selected and bought.

The sort of thing i have in mind would be
5 credits = $8,
10 credits = $15
15 credits = $20
20 credits = $25

do-able?

Yes, assuming that you set a session with the user's ID when they login you can do a simple update on the article page to reduce their credit balance by 1 using this session value to pull their details

Also make sure that their credit balance is greater than zero when hitting the page !
