Menu Writer Horizontal Submenus Not Working

I am using Menu Writer 2 on the following site:

www.hobsontravel.com

I have created a top horizontal navigation menu that works perfectly on the root only. If you are at www.hobsontravel.com and you hover the mouse over the Leisure menu, a fly-out shows Travel Planning and Luxury Specials.

If you click either of those two links you will go to that page with the same menu.

When on the sub-levels, none of the fly-out (drop-down) menus work properly.

The mouse hover results in the desired gold text hover attribute but I get no images etc.

What can I do to resolve this?

This is replicable in Firefox, IE, Opera and Safari.

Regards,
Duncan Staples

Try adding a position and z-index property to your /css/screen.css stylesheet (at about line 68):

#outerWrapper #topNavigation {
background-image: url("../CSSMenuWriter/cssmw_images/menu_bg.jpg");
background-repeat: repeat-x;
height: 41px;
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
position: relative;
width: 950px;
z-index: 9999;
}

Partially Working

neilo:

Thank you for your response. Your code did in fact fix all issues other than the HOME page with Internet Explorer 7+, 8+.

When you go to www.hobsontravel.com and hover your mouse over Leisure Travel or Business Travel you should get a fly-down menu but don't from the HOME page.

Strangely, when you click on ANY of the links other than HOME, the menus work as they should once you get to that page.

I have tried changing the path structure of the primary index.html file, both hard coding and canonical path and still no luck.

Any ideas as this is ticking my customer off a bit.

Thank you very much,
Duncan Staples

Permissions

neilo:

I have also tried giving the directory and file containing the JS CHMOD 757 permissions in addition to the IEPNGFIX file.

Have not found the fix yet.

Thank you,

for the css menu to appear in front of the flash movie on your page, the flash will need to have the wmode property set to transparent:

tn_15523.html

Thank you!

That was the problem.

The Flash file was indeed screwing up the menu on the home page. Microsoft seriously pisses me off at times but I digress.

Thank you very much,
