A single search box for all DB columns

A single search box for all DB columns

Is there a way with data assist to create a single search box that searches all columns within a database table, rather than one form element per column (as data assist currently produces for me)?

Yes but it is really only useful for text based searches.

Create a text box called for the sake of argument zoom_query and in the wizard your first selection will use the "AND" operator as standard but every subsequent selection should use the "OR" operator see attached screenshots

I have used this technique successfully on a number of sites even combining it with a normal DA type search in admin panels with a little hand coding
