PS4 and FedEx Shipping Large Bos

I'm not sure how to address this issue. Here is my problem. I've got a store that sells large cushions that weigh about 8-lbs each. I'm using Fed-Ex ground to ship and using the Fed-Ex look up function of PW4. The problem is the size of the box is what is important not the weight of the box and I don't see how to apply a box's size to the product shipping detail only the weight. How do I approach this? Thanks.

The shipping look up in power store will not support a different package dimension for each item.

you can edit the code in the webassist/plugins/shopping_cart/calculate_shipping.php page to change the dimensions that will be used.

for fed ex, the code is around line 136 - 138:

$Shipping_PackageArray[$Shipping_PackageIndex]["PackageLength"] = "12";
$Shipping_PackageArray[$Shipping_PackageIndex]["PackageWidth"] = "12";
$Shipping_PackageArray[$Shipping_PackageIndex]["PackageHeight"] = "12";

you can change this to use the dimension you would prefer.

That seems like it would work if I were only using 1 size box but I'm using different sized boxes when vary from product to product although they are all large boxes. What would you do in that case?

Power Store does not support different size boxes.

it would require making a number of modifications to the code.

you would need to add the width height length form elements to the product insert and update page and to the products table

you would need to edit the insert and update record behaviors on the products insert and update page to bind the new form elements to the new database columns.

You would need to edit the ecart object using eCart to create new columns for the hieght width and length.

you would need to edit the add to cart buttons to bind the new cart columns to the columns from the product recordset.

and finally edit the webassist/plugins/shopping_cart/calculate_shipping.php page to use the new cart columns for the height width and length.

all of these are not modifications that we can offer support for.
