Holding a Session from a Search

Thread began 2/03/2011 3:27 pm by christina.elissa4324782 | Last modified 12/09/2011 2:06 pm by Jason Byrnes | 1893 views | 16 replies |

Holding a Session from a Search

I'm trying to create a payment process that results from a search of an attendee's Id number. The first page (search page) is where a person enters the id number, the second pulls information based on the recordset and shows an ecart button if they need to pay (this works correctly), the third page is the checkout page. This is where the session doesn't seem to hold. It shows the correct information pulled from the button on the previous page in the cart, but I'm trying to show other information from the recordset on this page as well as the cart. However the recordset is not showing any results from the session.
I have attached the files.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance

It appears that either I'm defining the session incorrectly in attendee_paypalDirect2 through the search query or I'm not calling the id correctly in the cart_PPD page in the recordset.

Could the ecart buttons be causing a problem? I'd like to pull information from the session for at least two more pages. I'd like to autofill the checkout page with information from the database. I've been able to do this with the ecart wizards. So, maybe the problem is being caused by my creating the session through a search query? I've attempted to create other sessions, but they didn't work either.

Any assistance would be great.

Thanks.

code order on the second page is causing the session to be reset when the add to cart button pressed.

Rearrange the code on the second page so that the Add to Cart button code is before the data assist search code to correct the problem.

Tried and Still not working

I have rearranged the code, but still no go. Is there something else that could be resetting it.

Thanks for your help.

move this line of code that does the redirect after the add to cart button is pressed up the page so it is after the last add to cart button behavior:
<?php
// WA eCart Redirect
if ($ifpaFletcherRegistration->redirStr != "") {
header("Location: ".$ifpaFletcherRegistration->redirStr);
}
?>

Moved it above the require_once("../WADbSearch/HelperPHP.php");
Still no go.

It's not going to work being above the require once. it needs to be just after the add to cart code so that the page is redirected just before the search code can be executed.

you may also need to add exit just after the header function;
header("Location: ".$ifpaFletcherRegistration->redirStr);
exit;

the issue is that the search is being triggered when the add to cart button is pressed since the original search criteria are not posted with the add to cart, the session over written

another option is to change the method of thhe search for from GET to POST,

thgen change this code:
if ((isset($_GET["Search_x"]) && $_GET["Search_x"] != "")) {

to:
if ((isset($_POST["Search_x"]) && $_POST["Search_x"] != "")) {

which would prevent the search from being triggered with the add to cart.

Did as suggested, still not working

I added exit; to the end of the header and changed the GET to POST as suggested. It's still not working correctly.

Resolved with work around

I created a third page from the second page, and made that third page have the ecart buttons. Also had to add some extra code to the buttons so that it stayed in the session.
