ISP now requires I define smtp host, user and password

I have been using the User Registration Solution Pack successfully but now my ISP has changed their server setup and says that as is the solution pack does not define the the smtp host, user & password. Without this information mail gets sent to localhost and will not send from their server.

I need to know where to define the smtp host, user & password, which files to change.

Thank you

The user registration solution pack cannot be used with SMTP servers that require user name and password authentication.

The user registration solution pack uses the PHP mail() function to send out the email address. The PHP mail() function does not offer a way for connecting to smtp servers that require authentication

substitute PHP mail() function

My ISP is really trying to work with me and has offered a phpmailer script that works well with their server. Is it possible to substitute a phpmailer script with the PHP mail() function within the User Registration Solution Pack and if so, where would I do that?

Thank You

no, the phpmailier would not be able to be used as a substitute.
That script would require changing the forms action, which would break the insert record behavior on the registration page.

It also would not be able to send the verification link in the email.

About the only option other than finding an SMTP server that would allow you to use it without authentication would be using Universal Email to edit the email behaviors in the user registration solution pack to use the Pear Mail For SMTP mail object, the Pear mail object allows for authentication to be passed.
