Extra paragraph return in content

Thread began 1/28/2011 10:37 am by illbe322016 | Last modified 7/19/2011 10:30 am by Jason Byrnes | 3308 views | 10 replies |

Extra paragraph return in content

Hi, when I copy content from firefox, paste it into my content window and hit update I sometimes get an extra paragraph return before my content starts in a browser (Firefox). Sometimes it appears as it should, other times there is space, I have looked for any stray <p> tags etc. to no avail. Basically the <div> begins, then the include from PCMS then the </div> ends. Has anyone encountered this before?? Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance

Tom

power cms will automatically add a p tag when you insert data. it sounds when you are copying data, it is copying an additional p tag.

to check for this go into source view by clicking the source button in the toolbar.

Removing the extra paragraph tag when inserting data

I believe I have come across a solution on here some time ago but I can no longer find it. Because of the way I wish to user PowerCMS in my pages I do not want any additional code. Simply deleting it in Source Code does not work because as soon as I click Update it adds it again.

What file do I need to edit to turn off the automatic insertion of the paragraph tag?
I am using Power CMS 2.02 with FCK Editor.

Thank you

Update: I just found this suggestion: Set FCKConfig.FillEmptyBlocks = false ;
I hope this will fix it. If you have a different solution, please post.

Also need to get rid of auto-paragraph insertion

I am using the CMS Builder and I also need to get rid of the automatic paragraph insertion that the Power CMS does (it changes the format of the content with some of the tags in the html), while I have had no problem deleting the extra "p" tags in the source mode, it is VERY confusing for my clients, could someone please tell me how to get rid of this automatic insertion? Thanks so much!

There is no "ckeditor/config.js" in Power CMS 2.02

It uses FCK as the editor. Do I just add this code to fckconfig.js or is there a different solution?

Thanks
