Power Store 4 changing the product order

I have a store and my client wants to change the order of the product so it is not alphabetial

Sure, open the results.php page that is in the webassist/plugins/catalog/basic folder (you will need to make the same change to the results.php that is under the webassist/plugins/cataglog folder as well)

and Look for ORDER BY ProductName and change it to ORDER BY ProductID

If I do that then it will list by when the product was entered. I would have to go in to the database and change the id's. because I would not want my customer to mess around with the id's in the database.

If I go into the database and add a field "product_order" and then add a form field to the update form for products.

I am wondering how touchy the coding is.

That would be possible, but may take some hand coding to accomplish.


overall, the code should not be too touchy, but I would definitely back things up before making any changes.
