1 and 1 phpmyadmin

Hi

on 1and1 isp server if I open the users.sql in notepad then copy the contents into the clipboard.

I then go online to the 1 and i control panel select the sql tab and paste the sql file.

Lastly I select go.

I get the following errors.

Any idea as to a solution?

thanks

Ian

#1074 - Too big column length for column 'UserPassword' (max = 255). Use BLOB instead

MySQL said: Documentation
#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'CURRENT_TIMESTAMP,
`UserVerificationCode` varchar(20) DEFAUL

I just tried using the users.sql script on my site running on 1 and 1 with out any issue using the same version 5.0.91. I cannot reproduce the problem.

Same issue on RackSpace cloudsites

We attempted to create the table on Rackspace.
The MySql server is 5.0.41 one of the latest supported community server versions.

The two fields in question are:
`UserEmail` varchar(500) default NULL,
`UserPassword` varchar(500) default NULL,

This is not acceptable in MySQL and produces an error which asks us to reduce the Character limit to 255, or change the field data type to BLOB.

Resolved - but not sure if I have the reason why

The database I had set up on RackSpace was fairly new.... within a couple hours.
I was able to connect to it successfully using my DB manager on my PC - Not the host
s web based admin tool, but a separate 3rd party app.

So I assumed the DB is and was set up when I initially ran the script and encountered the error.

However, I changed NOTHING, but wanted to see the error it produced.
I simply ran the same script again and well, it worked. Table was created with the 500 Character Varchar fields.

Perhaps if my PC was attempting to use a 3.51 Driver instead of the 5.1 would that have produced the error we both experienced? Although I had configured with the 5.1 driver its the only anomaly I can think of.

Just trying to bring out a useful conclusion for future readers of the thread.
