Server Authentication

I'm creating a form for a client who's hosted by web.com
I've changed the <WA_Globals.php>
$WAGLOBAL_Email_Server = "mailhub.atl.registeredsite.com" ;
per web.com's instructions. They say that the server needs authentication, which (she sounded doubtful) would be the email username/password.

I found another post here that said. "use Universal Email to change the mail Object used by the contact form solution pack from mail to Pear mail for SMTP."

Scanned the mail_PHP.php file...but I'm not feeling real hopeful. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

the contact form solution pack is configured using the php mail() function. the php mail() function does not support server authentication.

You would need to use the universal Email extension to edit the Universal Email behavior to use the Pear Mail For SMTP to be able to use Serer Authentication, you will not be able to accomplish this through hand coding.

Thanks Jason,

So I'm guessing I could return Contact Form Solution Pack, and buy Universal email? The client is on a Windows Server, that requires server authentication...are you sure this will work. Web.com prefers an ASP file, but i think that's well over my head.

Thanks for your all your help.

We do not offer refunds for the contact form solution pack, this iss stated on the contact form solution pack product page:
contact-form/

  Please Note: The Contact Form Solution Pack is licensed for a single domain and is non-refundable.

to determine if Universal Email will work with your host, you will need to ask them if they support Pear Mail using PHP. if they support Pear Mail using PHP, then it should work with your host.
