New Extension in Beta: CMS Builder

We have a new Dreamweaver extension that is mid-QA, called CMS Builder, and we'd like to put it out to you all for beta testing. CMS Builder is a Dreamweaver extension that helps with the creation and management of websites using PowerCMS technology.

The extension will copy the necessary files, create the database tables, and display live CMS content all from within the Dreamweaver environment. It allows you to easily transfer content from an existing site into the CMS admin and also allows you to actually see the design of the completed page within Dreamweaver.

This tool should be a great asset for SiteSculptor users, as well as PowerCMS users, for editing and adding content from Dreamweaver, and because of the open license, will allow developers to start creating PowerCMS-driven sites without the need to purchase additional licenses for each site developed.

-------------------------------

Download CMS Builder beta build 018
Serial #: hTCOL-pOpIk-0yEVF-WpFBK

-------------------------------

You should be able to use this extension on any site. Once installed, simply highlight a piece of content you would like managed by the CMS and select the add to PowerCMS menu item. If you don’t already have PowerCMS installed, it will automatically create all of the database tables and copy the necessary files into your site before inserting the highlighted content and replacing it with the CMS reference. The page layout won’t actually change since the content from the database will remain visible in the Dreamweaver design to give you an accurate representation of how the live page will look.

You will still have to run the installer the first time you visit the CMS admin, but you can use the same serial number you used to activate the extension and it will work for as many sites as you want. (We may set a maximum limit, but it is likely to be at least a couple dozen domains, if any limit at all).

Thank you for any feedback you can provide. It is much appreciated!

no capitals in content location

Hi,
I have been playing with this a bit, and looks good.
The only very minor issue I have found, is that when it asks you to enter your content location, if you have any capital letters, it tells you that it will only accept alphanumeric characters.
Took me a few minutes to realize that capital letters were causing the issue.

Pretty minor!

thanks
Tom
