Would like more information on a previous question not answered.

The two center posts on the homepage for featured and most popular products. Can they be removed throught the CMS and if so what happens to the integrity of the homepage design?

I don't really want them included if they can be removed without making holes in the page. I don't really want to advertise featured and most popular.

Any way to do this without destroying the homepage design?

Thanks

You would have to remove them manually from the theme template and not from the CMS.

About homepage pods

Ok. I understand and that's not something I want to do myself, but if that's true what does it mean when you click on the edit portion of those pods and it takes you to the CMS where the editable pages are listed and when you hover over the page the green plus icon shows a red x icon. Doesn't that mean that you have the option to delete that entire section out of the CMS and therefore the pod it represents? Just curious what happens if it's deleted that way.

No, it will just be blank if removed.

The page is a simple html page you could edit by hand, but that is the only way to remove those pods.

Ok that's good!

I can work with HTML and CSS (have some basic understanding of it) but know nothing about PHP. It appears you're telling me that the PHP is not rendering the HTML/CSS code on the fly, just pulling data and submitting it to the page. So where do I find the appropriate HTML/CSS code in the directory where PowerStore is installed? If nothing else I'd like to take a look at the code...

It should be located in:

webassist/themes/[yourtheme]/templates/

you should find the home page there... you should be able to remove things with just html and css knowledge.

Help

Ray,

Really sorry for sounding so dumb, but I'm looking at the directory you pointed me to in Coda and I can't for the life of me see any HTML files.

If I go here: webassist/themes/[yourtheme]/templates/ I see admin.dwt.php index.dwt.php install.dwt.php and page.dwt.php

I see a folders under [yourtheme] call css, images, plugins, templates and that's it and not a single HTML file anywhere in the [yourtheme] directory structure. I'm assuming the file you were referring to is "index.dwt.php"?? Not sure how to edit it as HTML/CSS. I can't even preview it in Coda to see what it looks like.

Am I lost and in over my head or am I looking at what you were implying and just don't get it because it's buried in PHP?

Sorry to appear ignorant! I'm really trying to get a handle on PowerStore and how to use it!

The page is: index.dwt.php

maybe rename it to index.php or even index.html when you try to edit it and name it back when you are done.

It is mostly a standard web page but maybe coda is choking on the .dwt.php extension?
