Contact form - validate message field

Hello,

I am creating a basic contact form that sends an email to the website owner (and if selected the sender.)

I have the validation for all fields except the message field put into place - does anyone have any suggestions for which server side validation to use on a message field?

Thank you.

there is no one size fits all answer to this question.

What kind of input do you wish to allow for the message field?

I would think that at the least you would want to apply Required Validation.

you may want to apply restrict content validation to not allow certain content like swear words.

But, really, it comes down to what you want to allow or not allow in the message field.
