Member discount in Power store

I have powerstore and ecart. I would like to know if anybody has implemented a member discount on their powerstore site. I want registered members to have discounts when they register on the website. I tried the old fashion e-commerce recipes, but it just doesn't work with the snipets.

What kind of discounts do you want to offer?

Powerstore is already adding login and user registration, so all you have to do is take advantage of what is already there in a discount rule.

Basically it is already done, you just need to decide what kind of discount you want.

member discount in Powerstore

Hi Ray,

I'm trying to implement a feature where member discounts are offered to customers when they register. That is, since Powerstore has a user registration, I want to implement a feature where registered used (members) can be offered a "member Discount" when they purchase an item.

Also I notice that, after, after I tried to add a member discount rule ( in order to properly keep track of the discount price for each item added to the shopping cart), I get the following SQL syntax error

Recordset: WADAProducts
ID Column: MySQL Error#: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 2.

I tried to update the SQL like you suggested in one of your earlier suggestion, that is,

SELECT * FROM products WHERE ProductID = %s OR ( -1= %s AND ProductID= %s) AND ProductLive <> 0

But that does not work.

Unless you're saying that, to implement a member discount for registered users in PowerStore, there's a different process?

I'm saying you don't have to update anything. What exactly are you trying to do. What kind of discount? % based? Do you store two prices in your DB?

I'm not sure what updates you are making to what sql but I wouldn't suggest any updates at this point until I understand your exact scenario... in other words I need to understand the specifics of how you want these discounts to work.

member discount in Powerstore

In short, I want to enable the registered users to have a member discount.

There are too many possibilities of ways to do this for me to give a specific answer. If you are short in your description I can be only be short or general in my response.

In short, you can usually just add a discount rule and don't need to do anything else.

member discount in Powerstore

I don't know how specific I can be. So let me try it this way.

All I want to do is implement into powerstore "a member discount functionality", that is registered shoppers when logged in shoppers are the only ones who can redeem discount offerings.

A-Powerstores' Present condition:

As it stands, Powerstore, using eCart, makes it possible for one to implement discounts on a general basis regardless of whether a shopper is logged into Powerstore or not. In otherwords, once a discount is implemented, any shopper can redeem the discount using.

B-What I want to accomplish:

a-Objective 1:

I only want shoppers who REGISTER with Powerstore and LOGGED IN to be the ONLY ones to take advantage of certain discount offerings on items.

b-Objective 2:

I don't want shoppers who are NOT logged into powerstore to take advantage of certain discount offerings on items.

C-What I have done so far:

The above two objective as applied are not separate taks. They can be accomplished with the implementation of a "Member Discount Rule" in ecart. However, I don't know how they can be applied to Powerstore.

I followed the instructions(they are three steps) on ecart/, under the subheading, Member Discounts.
