Captcha image for blind readers

Thread began 1/04/2011 10:19 am by webdezign188293 | Last modified 1/04/2011 10:24 am by Jason Byrnes | 2020 views | 1 replies |

Captcha image for blind readers

Is there a way for blind readers to read the captcha images in the contact form kit? I have the current version on my website and everything works fine. But Blind people using a reader can read all of my form entries, until they get to the captcha number. Is there any fix for that, or should I just not use the captcha portion?

the only way to make the captcha code available to blind readers would be to output the value into the image ALT tag, but this would defeat the purpose of using captcha since it would also make it more readily available to bots filling in the form.
