Image Mapping Issues

Hello Jason,

I have used the imaging mapping technique via Dreamweaver put am now having problems with with it reconnizing the links. it recognizing it in the admin editor but not when it gets to my page.

Not sure if I need to purge some of my database files.

I am using the imaging mapping for the home page site message, and the problem issue is now when trying to apply same technique for Home page content area.

Not sure if there would be an issue with the name "map" being the same in both areas.

Do you have a sample page where we can view the issue? I'm having a hard time figuring out what might be the problem from your description alone.

Thanks so much for the quick reply.. (see attache image as well)

Jason show me howto use image mapping and it has been working great but now the images show up but the mapping wont reconize my links.

I use dreamweaver from a blank file and then copy and paste, here is code

<p><img border="0" width="550" height="307" usemap="#Map" alt="" src="/imagesupload/cms_files/Home Page Menu.jpg"> <map id="Map" name="Map"><area shape="rect" coords="30,11,166,122" href="http://www.luxehats.com/products_results.php?Search=1&ProductCategoryID[]=3"><area shape="rect" coords="212,12,333,124" href="http://www.luxehats.com/products_results.php?Search=1&ProductCategoryID[]=9"></map></p>

That code looks correct to me. Do you have a url of a page where I can view it?

You can't use the name "Map" for your map. Change it to MapID and it should work.

Here is what I used for my Site Message and works good.

<p><img border="0" alt="" width="971" height="467" usemap="#Map" src="/imagesupload/cms_files/Group Billlboard.jpg"><map id="Map" name="Map"><area shape="rect" coords="21,407,567,458" href="http://www.facebook.com/Luxehat"><area shape="rect" coords="723,293,945,461" href="http://luxehats.com/page.php?News=3"></map></p>

It is because you are using the same name and ID for both image maps on the page. They need to be unique.

What's weird is that when I am in the admin editing area and the page viewing shows both the content area and site message are.. it will let me click the links (see attached image for reference), but on the working home page it doesent has already stated.
