HELP with Universal Email Settings

Hi there, as a new user to universal email I must say I love the concept if I can get it to work.... LOL Basically I have a hosting account with GoDaddy and my settings are:

Incoming mail: pop,secureserver.net
Outgoing Mail: smtpout.secureserver.net
Username and a Password of course

My question is do I need to configure Universal email with these settings and if so where? I notice that there are some settings but it is not very clear what should be configured.

I am sure someone is using GoDaddy hosting on a PHP server and would hope could help with the configuration.

Thank you all for your help

Doug

in universal email, set the smtp server to:
smtpout.secureserver.net

and the port to 25

set the from address to be a valid email address for your domain.

and check the option to include the from address as an additional parameter.

GoDaddy is notoriously difficult to get working for sending emails.

You should make sure that you are using a Linux based hosting account with GoDaddy, and that it is using PHP 5, if you need help verifying those 2 aspects of your hosting account, contact GoDaddys support.

Re: Thoughts

Yes, I did try that and it still does not work.... hmmmm I guess I will have to call GoDaddy and hope they know exactly what I am talking about...

If you think of anything else please let me know

Thanks

are you using GoDaddy Linux hosting or windows hosting? You should be using Linux Hosting

Is your GoDaddy [plan set up for PHP 4 or PHP 5? Make sure it is PHP 5.

In universal email, did you set a go to page? and does it go to that page when you submit the form?

Re: Another Try

Hi there again.... I am def using Linux and PHP 5. I do have a "Go To" page set though... Is that something that needs to be done?

Thanks

no, it doesn't need to be done, but can be helpful in determining if the behavior is being triggered.

try using the following for the smtp server:
relay-hosting.secureserver.net

can you send a copy of the page so i can examine the code.

Re: Update for PHP

Ok so tried a couple of things. Tried setting it up to a page upon submission and that did not work. I called goDaddy and they said I should be following these directions 24? but do not recall having to do any of that.

The site is a single page with a form on it www.lpstoragect.com if that helps you at all.

I thank you very much for helping me with this issue and hopefully at the end of it all I will get an education out of it... LOL

so you set universal email up to redirect to another page, but the redirect is not occurring?

this would mean that the universal email behavior is not triggering.

can you compress the php file into a zip archive and attach that so i can see the code.

Thiram Psittaci

Okay, I think this is what you wanted correct? I can send you a zip file of the site itself if you give me your email address

thanks

you just set the go to page to go to the index page at the www.TaberTV.com domain, not any one specific page, this doesnt tell us anything, it is really just reloading itself:

also the domain for the go to page is different from the link you gave before?
$GoToPage = "http://www.TaberTV.com";

What i need is the entire PHP page that you applied universal email to, not just the universal email behavior code, i need to see the entire code in context.
