Error mesage

I get this message periodically when I am filling in a table. I do not know what it means. Could someone please explain it and what to do about it.
Usually I keep fiddling and eventually accomplish what I am doing.

the error means that the value being stored in the HistoryValue column is to long.


you can try changing the HistoryValue column type in the mysql database to longtext instead of text.

in the code that I put onto my PHP page. Not sure where the database file is to which you refer.

you would need to edit the database structure in the mysql server. It is not a file.

I have no idea how to do that.

isn't there another way/easier way to deal with this issue ?

no, there is not another of dealing with the isuse. You would need to modify the database structure.


your host should offer a control panel that will give access to the database using PHPMyAdmin. this should allow you to change the column type for the content history column in the database.
