problems updating db with new fields

my client wants to add company name fields to the checkout form billing and shipping sections.
I have added the fields, and the company name is displayed correctly on the confirm page.
I have added the fields to the order summary table
The problem I am having, is that the company name is not being stored in the summary table when the confirm button is pressed.
I tried adding a text string, which works fine, but when I try updating the server behaviour, the new columns do not appear in the ecart_checkout_form binding.
I also tried adding the new field manually, but this doesn’t work either.
If I check the bindings on the checkout page, the new fields are there, but when I ckeck the bindings on the confirm page, they are not.

Craig,

In your bindings panel on the confirm page have you used the add form data behaviour

?

If you have you need to refresh it if not you can use it to add the bindings from the form on checkout.php

thankd for the reply Dave.

I did as you suggested, and I now have a second instance of the eCart checkout form, bound to my confirm page.

The added fields are there in the new instance, so I added them via the interface to update the order summary table.

still no joy, the fields are not updated

keep banging your head against a wall, eventually you get through!

Oh dear.

Simple when you think about it.

the database update is using the hidden field values from the bottom of the form, next to all of the buttons.

I noticed the fields I needed weren't there, so I added them, and hey presto, it works!
