Other Gatway

A US client store is up and using Authorize.net. Their Europe branch wants a similar store, but cannot use Authorize.net because it is US-centric. Nor does it want to use Paypal. Is it difficult to set up either Powerstore 3 or the new Powerstore 4 with a different gateway? I'm sure I'm not the first to ask this, but I couldn't find a good answer in the forum.

Authorize.net and Power Store are the only two gateways that are supported by power store.

If you own eCart, it is possible to use that to add cehckout using one of the other gateways that ecart offers, but this is not an easy or supported modification.

if you dont own eCart or want to use a gateway that is not offered by eCart, then you would need to hand code the logic to process the transaction through that gateway.

unsupported?

Out of curiosity, if Powerstore uses eCart and if own and use eCart to modify Powerstore's gateway, why would it be unsupported? Both are Webassist products and designed to work together. Is thiscdue to some agreement with Authorize.net? Just wondering...

Some of the available gatweways in eCart will break features of power store.

Different gateways have different flows in the way the checkout pages go from one to the other.

the checkout process in power store was designed to work with the flow of payPal and Authorize.net.

modifying power store to work with a different gateway may require redoing the checkout flow, and may break features such as inventory manage of digital goods delivery.

Good to know!

Thanks for the explanation. That ought to keep me from over-promising my european client. We were told by Authorize.net that it is not set up to process multiple foreign currencies, so it is a poor choice for my application. I'll take a deeper look at Paypal and see if I can't convince them to go that way. Otherwise, I'll likely loose the project...
