Send later

What I need to do is send an email on a date set in the database record. Clients will create an email on my site and specify the date the email is to be sent.

1. A cron which reads the database and creates an email when a send date is reached (I've never created a cron! Where do I lean how to do that?)

OR

2. (Your better idea goes here)

Thanks
Nick

you would need to set up a cron job to accomplish this.

Cron to the rescue

Do you know of any samples of script to use with cron which will use the email I developed using universal email.

My client wants to schedule sending email on dates set in the database. The record has the email address, the message, and the date to be sent. How do I create a script which would send out the emails once a day checking for records with today's date.

No, i do not have any samples of how to do this, it is not a supported feature of Universal Email.

What if?

If I create a page with two forms to update the record setting the sent field to 1 and have it submit "before load". It can be populated by one of two recordsets and two forms. The first counts the email to be sent and as long as there are two or more then the redirect can be to the same page, a loop.

The second count for 1 or less and it shows a form which redirects to blank page there by stoping the loop.

Would this work?
