Coupon Issue

I am having issues while trying to set a coupon to specific items.
I am going through the process correctly however.. the coupon never applies to that specific item, but rather all of the products.

how do i fix this?

- i have made the coupon live, and i have made sure to check the box to choose the product i want it applied to.

- i click "insert", choose my category of my product and and click "Add to Coupon" for the product i would like to discount.

- i click "done" (and then on the coupon details page that iam redirected to it still reads
"For Products: all"

I tried to click "Edit Products".....and try any which way that i can to only choose the product i would like.... still no luck.

Even checking on the site when im in the shopping cart.... the coupon will apply to anything that i have in it.

Please help me resolve the issue im facing.
