How to add a Form Element

How to add a Form Element

I for the life of me cannot find out how to add a form element to the ecart_checkout_form.

I've added a row to the table, tried adding my own text box, tried adding an eCart Updateable Text Field, but no matter how I add them, they do not show up in the ecar_checkout_form as a field. So until I can do that, i cannot bind it to so that it gets saved as a session variable and thereby display it on subsequent pages.

I've tried adding columns to the eCart Object, and they show up there, I've added the field to my database table.

What step am I missing?
